There are a number of grants available for people with disabilities who need mobility scooters. The government’s Motability Scheme provides grants for mobility scooters and other mobility equipment, and there are also a number of charities that provide grants for mobility scooters.
To apply for a grant from the government’s Motability Scheme, you will need to be in receipt of certain benefits such as Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment. You can find out more about the eligibility criteria on the Motability Scheme website. Let’s dive deeper:
Motability Scheme by the Department of Work and Pensions (DLA and PIP)
Personal Independence Payment
You should be awarded PIP (Personal Independence Payment), with at least 12 months left, to be eligible for the mutability grant for scooters.
Requirements:

- A disability or mental health condition that requires help with mobility and daily living
